I have made it a point to always talk to our visiting professionals if they are relevant to my practice not for the sake of making a contact but to make contact to someone outside of my everyday life. I always ask a question or questions that will help push my practice and give me a new insight. When YCN came in Dean said he would like to discuss my question further so I went up to talk to him. I received his email address and another contact from YCN, unfortunately I received no reply from their address but Dean did reply. I asked about the community I had suggest to set up and he replied, it took a bit longer to get a reply as he said he'd left the email in his drafts. I'm hoping to keep this conversation going and I have now sent an email hoping to go and visit the team or even gain some work experience. Contacting professionals like this is something still quite new to me but I have learnt that if you are friendly and genuine the worst they can do is not reply or turn you down and the best is that your practice gets pushed.
