Change of Heart - OUGD502

Often my design practice has been digital and solely this, because it is a quick method, it's cheaper and for me easier. Over the past few years I have felt almost like I can't branch out for these reasons and that I am a digital designer full stop. This year I have decided to experiment more, to do things that may scare me and to go back to a more traditional way of designing. After making more contacts and friends outside of the graphic design community and outside of our studio I have managed to do these things, going to talk and visits I wouldn't usually do or taking on more ambitious projects without shooting them down or going at them half heartedly. I have decided to start illustrating more, using traditional print methods and maybe doing more time consuming projects that will just mean I have to organise myself better. Already I feel that I have become more relaxed with projects and at the same time more excited to try more and do more. This has helped both inside and outside my design work which eventually comes back round full circle meaning I have more inspirations, more contacts and more skills to push my practice to it's full potential and them some.
